Who knows this russian aircraft?
What`s the whole name and was it in (military) service?

VVA-14-1/M-62 - VTOL aircraft. Designed for the anti-submarine role. Bartini-Beriev 1972. The VVA-14 was an extraordinary ground-effect aircraft. It had a big fuselage and two enormous 'pods' connected to the fuselage by large aerofoil fairings, containing in all 12 lift jet engines for vertical take-off. Two engines were fitted to the forward fuselage would create an air cushion by blowing their exhaust in the narrow channels between fuselage and 'pods'. Two more engines were fittedon top of the fuselage, above a slender wing fitted well back. Three prototypes were built. It is believed that the lift engines were never fitted.

I don't think so. I think they're missing. The photo above seems to be of the same aircaft from a different angle.

I posted this topic tonight together with Herbman at his apartment, than we don`t care anymore and watched TV and drinking beer. Now i`m back at home and decide to look if someone replyed our question.

Oh ok...didn't notice... that first pic makes it looks like a big giant ant or something related to the ant family! Russia sure had some ugly looking airplanes (no offense)... look at that Ekranoplane that became a kit by Revell Germany...
