Questions About Air National Guard (ANG) And Air F

Wed Aug 29, 2001 11:44 am

Air National Guard (ANG) and Air Force Reserves (AFRES) I'm interested in finding out some more info on these services. Does anyone know what the max age to enter one of these services is? If you already have your commercial license does that increase your chance of being accepted? Is there a minimum amount of time that you have to serve with them? How long is training and what type of aircraft can one expect to fly?

I'm not positive, but I believe the max age (without prior service) for the Guard is 34 and the Reserves is 27. The best thing to do is contact your local recruiter, they have all the answers.

As for having a commercial pilot's license, it will mean nothing unless you have a college degree. Having a degree could allow you to enter as an officer, or as an enlisted troop with a slot for OCS.
