Unable To Take Photos Of US Miltary Planes

Sun Oct 14, 2001 10:58 am

I was out at Christchurch airport today and was about to take a photo of a C-141 and KC-135 and was told not to.
I was wondering is this a normal thing when other US miltary planes are waging war?

Our LC-130H skibirds from the 109th Airlift Wing out of Schenectady NY fly down to Christchurch before heading to McMurdo Station Antarctica.

I live very close to NAS/JRB (Naval Air Station/Joint Reserve Base) Willow Grove, Pennsylvania. There is a fenced in spotting area for non-military personnel by the threshold for runway 33, the most commonly used runway, and the gates into the spotting area are always open. However, driving past the base the other day, I noted that the gates to the spotting area were sealed tight...

Runway 15/33 is the only runway at Willow Grove... unless I'm mistaken (and I hope I'm not!).
