The aircraft will apparently be four SuperGaleb G4 (Yug. Army designation: N-62), Yugoslav built, and Russian An-26 and Yak-40, one each. The Yugoslav Air Force has 15 An-26s and six Yak-40s (2 of the Yaks are used for radar calibration, the other for VIP transport).

YuAF has about 40 G4s. Macedonia already has Su-25 but it seems they have proven ineffective combating the Albanian insurgents (in Macedonia's case at least) and Macedonia had previously, when the conflict was still intense, had examined the probability of acquiring Galeb/Jastrebs or Super Galebs.
I don't know why the Su-25 in tandem with the Mi-24 had proven ineffective, perhaps Mac. pilots didn't have enough training (they are familiar with G2/G4 though) or maybe G4 is more manouverable?
