Which Countries Still Fly The A4 Skyhawk?

Mon Oct 22, 2001 3:53 pm

Here in New Zealand the government is dis-banding the strike squadron of the RNZAF, selling it's A4K and TA4K Skyhawks as well as their Aermacchi jet trainers. Just wondering which countries in the world still fly the Skyhawk in active duties??

Argentina and Singapore still fly them in active duty. The USA might still have some trainers (these are being replaced by Goshawks, I don't know the status of the program, it might be complete by now).
I wish I were flying

Israel should have withdrawn all A-4s from service but maybe there are some used for experimental purposes or kept in storage ready for use in emergency.
Indonesia still have some. Brazilian Navy is receiving and putting into service some former Kuwaiti A-4KU.

RSAF A-4S Super Skyhawks are soon going to be replaced by F-16s.

Argentina uses the A-4AR and O4-AR (training). It's an improved version with a very similar avionics to the F-16C/D

Brazilian Navy A-4KU

Thu Oct 25, 2001 8:28 am

Hello,

The Brazilian Navy (Marinha Brasileira) has just received some aircrafts from Kuwait. They were all refurbished and will be used from the A-12 São Paulo Aircraft-Carrier (ex-Foch). The aircrafts are operating on the VF-1 Squadron, based at São Pedro da Aldeia (Rio de Janeiro). The aircrafts are designated AF-1 and they look like have just came new from the factory!

See you guys!
