I guess that it was a dissapointment for SAAB/BAe that it was only a lease, not new orders.
Anyway, it's nice to see that Gripen have made it in to a NATO country. Hopefully more countries are willing to by Gripen after this. Next countries to select are Poland and Czech Republic.

Who are they leasing the Gripens from? Are those going to be new a/c, or used ones?

They will lease them for 10 years from Sweden and it will be used aircraft of the Swedish Airforce.

The lease was apparently worth 500.000.000$ Does anyone know when they will be delivered?

The first aircraft will be delivered in autumn 2004.

No, not for sure. There are rumours that it might be aircraft from the first production batch.

Personally, I'm glad to see more Gripens. Don't get me wrong, I love F-16s, but I see them all over the place. Also looking forward to Eurofighters and F-22s.
