The information about the C-17s coming to McGuire came from a ton of sources. I once read an article from the Burlington County Times regarding the Globemaster III's possibly coming to McGuire and from other sources (US Air Force - The New Century by Bob Archer - has a pair of F-22s on the cover) saying C-17s will be at McGuire.
Quoted from that very book, "...C-17 production could be extended with ten aircraft budgeted in 2003, followed by 15 each during the next three years, and the final five in 2007. These will enable the final frontline C-141Bs with the 305th AMW at McGuire AFB, NJ to be replaced, and will allow additional reserve units to convert to the C-17."
Fourteen more C-17s have been approved for special operations forces and they could also be based at McGuire. McGuire at one time had 32 C-141s, now the number is maybe less than 15. Like I've said before, McGuire WILL get the C-17s.
