XX105 DRA BAC 1-11 Retired?

Sun Mar 17, 2002 8:12 am

I've heard news, that the Defense Research Agency BAC 1-11 XX105 will be 'retired' soon. A ceremony is scheduled at Bournemouth this weekend. Does anybody know if thats true and what will happen to the aircraft (sale/museum?)? Regards Blackbird1
I'd rather be flying!

I'm sure they'd like to sell it, but not much demand for this aircraft type now.

I don't know specifically about 105, but we've just completed an annual inspection on ZE433 so there must still be a demand for them and I was at Boscombe down the other day and there were several 1-11s flying.
