U.S. Helicopter Crash In Sicily

CNN is reporting that a Navy H-53 chopper went down on the east side of the island. All 4 on board dead, cause is not yet known, but the wreckage burned out after the crash.

I don't have details yet. But my brother told my parents that one of his former Citadel classmates was killed in this crash. they where both on the wrestling team.

My prayers are with their families.

I'm a bit befuddled with the fascination in US military aircraft crashes, but the one in Sicily was a Navy MH-53E, BuNo 163068, which crashed returning to the field during a training mission.

The Marine Corps also lost an AV-8B the same day, BuNo 163201, in North Carolina.
