Busy Day At Wright-Pat AFB?

Fri Sep 12, 2003 5:24 am

Today there has been about 35-45 C-141, KC-135, KC-10's, C5's, that have been flying over my school. Typically we only get 10-15 planes that fly over daily. Any reason why we got triple+ the normal amount? Is it related to 9-11? Or just a coincidence?

Possibly, the military heightened its' alert status for 9/11 and activated additional units, requiring extra transport and tanker support. That's just a guess, I've never been in the military. I was At Wright-Patterson 2 months ago as part of a visit to the AF Museum, it's quite a place. Lots of new construction at the base, I was told it's a new archives section-it's HUGE!

no reason, but it has been busier lately, mosts 135's and 141's you see here are doing multiple approaches, its rare to have more then 1 135 in the pattern, just the same one over and over
