Portuguese Air Force Alpha Jet Crashed!

Fri Oct 24, 2003 4:28 am

Hi!

Just to let you know that yesterday I saw on the news that a Portuguese Air Force Alpha Jet from Beja Air Force Base crashed in Nisa, just about 150 kms from this Base. The pilot ejected successfully and just got minor injuries. I don't have the information of the serial number but just to let you know, Portugal received 50 Alpha Jets from Germany in mid 90's and converted 25 of them to replace the good old Fiat G.91R3/R4 and from these 5 had the ECM package installed and they were attached to Squadron 301 Jaguares. The other 15 went to replace the T-33/T-37/T-38 in the trainning role and were attached to Squadron 101 from trainning. The other 10 were used to spares.
