Subject line would more appropriately say: Last C-141s To Retire From Active Duty Service.

The C-141 will be around for a couple of years yet with the Guard and Reserve.

Good point but that doesn't fit into the subject line. I would try to edit it down but for some reason I can't seem to edit my original post...

Three C-141's were used to bring the POW's from Hanoi at the end of the US involvement in the Vietnam War. All three are called "Hanoi Taxi" and one of these airplanes is with a reserve unit at Wright-Patterson AFB near Dayton, Ohio.
When this airplane is retired (2005?), it will become part of the collection at the Air Force Museum. This airplane is regularly displayed at airshows and for those occasions; it is decked out, in the cabin, with photos from the repatriation.

I always enjoyed seeing a Starlifter come in at AEX! I will miss them when they are gone!!
