What's The ETA Of The AF1 Sunday At MST?

Thu May 05, 2005 10:55 pm

Like it says, Bush will arrive sunday at MST , What is the ETA?
Anyone going there? Will it be a 757 or the 'real' thing?

Which airport will accomodate the backup plane? I guess it's EIN?

Bush is always flying on Air Force 1 being a Boeing 747. ETA is not known. a newspaper wrote it will be at 20:00 on Saturday with departure at 12:00 on Sunday. Have a look at http://www.mst-aviation.nl

As far as I know any plane where the President is onboard is the AF1, incl the 757 which he often uses.

KL911 -

You are partially correct. Any USAF plane that the President is on is designated AF1. If he is on a USN plane, then it would be Navy1 or Marine1 for a USMC aircraft. For non military planes, the designation would be Executive1.

He often does use a 757, although primarily for US domestic flights where logistically it makes more sense because of the constraints of the airfield.

My guess is that for this trip through Europe he will be solely on the 747.

The following quote was copied from the Scramble forums. I hope you did register in advance with the KMar otherwise you will probably not be allowed in regardless.

In contrast to earlier posted messages the military police noticed us earlier today regarding the following:
None of the registered spotters, Dutch or foreign, will receive a personal invitation at their home adresses. Everyone that registered with Spotting Group Maastricht in time will be allowed to enter the special spottersfacilities at Maastricht Aachen Airport on saturday may 7th 2005. From 15.00 local time registered spotters have to park their cars in the industrial aerea Technoport at Maastricht Aachen Airport, what can be found in front of the threshold of runway 22. (Aziëlaan, Australiëlaan, Afrikalaan). At this point the military police will be present with a blue coloured military bus. Everybody has to bring his own personal legal ID. After checking your ID you will receive your personal ID by the military police. Please take notice that everyone has to be on time!
The military police asked us to bring the following under the attention:

- steps, ladders and other stuf are not allowed;
- all the rules ordered by the authorities as well as the military police
have to be strictly succeeded;
- cars, bikes, etc, can be parked at the following streets (Technoport
industrial aerea) : Aziëlaan, Afrikalaan, Australiëlaan; from this point
busses will drive every registered spotter to the mentioned facilities;
- everyone will be searched (X-Ray scan as well as Metal Detector);
- it is strictly forbidden to use umbrella's, large bags, banners, flags, or
weapons (including pocket knives).

Offence of this rules/measures or the abuse of your personal invitation will not be tolerated.
