Need Help With The Reg Of This Aircraft

Fri Jul 01, 2005 1:44 am

Hi everyone. I'm trying to upload this photo but I'm not sure what reg it is? The number on the tail reads 40566 but I don't think that's it. I'm not real good with uploading military aircraft. Here's the photo:

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

At a guess judging by other AFRC a/c, but could it be 84-0566?

Per www.scramble.nl it's 64-0566.

Were I to guess, I would have said 64 or 74 since this bird has the remnants of the fulton recovery gear on the nose and only the earlier spec ops C-130s ever had fulton.

Just an FYI, but you may already know. Military aircraft use a registration number, or bureau number that includes the year the aircraft was ordered and a sequence number to the number ordered. Like your C-130....

64-0566. It was ordered in 1964, and was the 566 aircraft in that order sequence. Maybe someone with a better knowledge base can give a more definitive answer, but that is pretty close.
