Were you close enough to tell what type it was? Tanker, or just pax?

If the reg had a ZE prefix, it was a CC.2 pure transport, a ZD prefix would be one of the 6 ex BA -500's, converted to transport/tanker.
The 'ZE' aircraft are ex Pan-Am.

There were two of the RAF L-1011's and another (RAF unknown type to me)in PHX last Monday. I didn't have my camera handy.  Sad

I have pics of it on the ramp at RIV. I'm off for vacation and will try to post in 2 weeks.

Quoting Woodreau (Reply 4):
and another (RAF unknown type to me)

If it had four engines mounted in the tail it would be a Vickers VC-10. Boy are THEY noisy.

Best regards,

Jim
Erm, is this thing on?

Excel are also doing some trooping and personnel flights for RR at the moment, so if you are seeing RAF transport movements then one of their 767s could pop up.
Lead me not into temptation, I can find my own way there...
