its currently being tested by fokker and stork aerospace...

does anybody know who operated the F-100 before it was converted to this radar plane?

and are there any orders placed already? can see this plane being the replacement for the orions wich already left the fleet. maybe it can also take over the F-60 job at the dutch caribean...

Hi Maurice,

To the best of my knowledge this aircraft has always been operated by Fokker / Stork. It is one of the original F-100 prototypes that was used in the flight certification of the F-100. Not aware of any orders for this conversion but I could be wrong.

ah yes its indeed the test frame  Smile thanks. interesting to note is that this plane has been in storage for about 8 to 9 years....

anyway, with the renewall programm from stork (new engines, avionics, a KL F-100 is currently being upgraded with new engines) could this plane be succesfull ?

i can see the dutch navy ordering some, because since the orions left, there arent many surveillance planes left (2 F-60 wich are curently at the antillen)

Sources please? I have heard this rumour here at A.net before but never anything with credible sources.

Anyway, the radar equipment may be tested aboard a F100, the plan is to integrate it into another airframe. Can't remember which one but I believe it was the A319?

It is indeed our proto or Q1 as we know it.
Q2 was the second F100 proto which was converted to F70 later on, now scrapped though.

That's the plan yes but as far as I know nothing happened yet.
Anyway something has to happen before May 2006, one way or the other.

The Q1 is hired by Sostar for a series of test flights.

Just google a little bit and you will find your info.

Is that because of the spares contract between Stork and Rekkof which you (or was it someone else) once mentioned expires then. Or is it because of a potential visit to Farnborough? Or is it yet another deathline to make the "final go/no go decision". Or is it confidential?
