Just looking at the artists rendering forces one to remind onself that we are merely on the cusp of the unmanned revolution in air warfare. Supersonic A-N-D with the ability to loiter!

kewl  Wink there was talk a couple of years ago about such an aircraft also called "switchblade" which really did look like a switchblade... the wings could be swept right back for high speed supersonic cruise, swept mid for efficient low speed loiter, and swept forward for very high maneuverability. ( a bit like the F-14 except for the forward swept part)
56 types. 38 countries. 24 airlines.

I cannot get excited by a pilot-less aircraft either. It is cool, but in the same way MS flight simulatoer is cool.

I wouldn't worry too much. UAVs will do the bulk of the boring jobs and super dangerous stuff, then flights of armed UAV fighters lead by a manned fighter will do the stuff that needs a real person. That would be the best situation a manned fighter could hope for. In a fight against even the best opponent manned fighters, the UAVs will be able to outmaneuver them not being severely limited by G force.
