Man Or Robot?

Mon Mar 19, 2007 6:14 am

NASA and congress are discussing how exploration of the moon should be funded. Many in congress want to send machines. Who do you trust, man or machine?

The Mars rovers work well although they are awfully slow. Humans on the moon again would produce huge amounts of science, exploration and prospecting in the same timeframe.

Send people in a mobile base is my advise.

Quoting Blackbird1331 (Thread starter):

Both.

The problem is if there is supposed to be this big puch to get 'man' out of LEO, then sending robots to the moon is about as efficient as sending robots to the bottom of the ocean without a light. Sure you mind find a few things here and there, but you are mostly going to find that only a person can give a country PRIDE that the reasearch is being done there.
