Scotty - Lost In Space

Sat May 12, 2007 10:21 pm

Looks like he forgot his communicator - they can't get a lock on him...  Smile

Or maybe he locked the transporter into a continuous refresh cycle and dematerialized himself....  Smile

In any case Godspeed Jimmy and Gordo...

Sounds like something Kirk would do.

Seriously though, there is a reason why you never wanted to be the guy in the red shirt on an away party, and James Doohan wore a lot of red shirts.
OBAMA-WORST PRESIDENT EVER....Even SKOORB would be better.

Both Doohan & Nichols were red shirts/skirts and yet both managed to avoid the dreaded red shirt curse. Did they have multi year contracts?  Smile

Back on topic... I wondered if it's that they don't know where the capsule is or if they know where it is but can't get to it...

"The capsule containing the ashes spent some four minutes at the edge of space before coming back to earth. It landed roughly where expected, according to the company operating the rocket."

What was truly the point of this silly exercise? Just for the ashes to touch the edge of space and come back? I thought the ashes were to burn up in the atmosphere. However little this may have cost, I think it was dumb. Just to say Jimmy Doohan actually finally made it into space wasn't enough reason for a dumb stunt like this. And Cooper had already been there so it was REALLY pointless in his case. Another case of emotion overiding reason.

Where Jimmy is concerned I think it was more for the fans than for him or the family. I wouldn't be surprised at all to learn that it was Paramounts idea or that they footed the bill.
