Just saw the story on the local news here in Dayton and was going to post it. Was it an 181st F-15?

No. Based here in STL. Bit of a shock, this is the first I've heard of it.

Looking at the tail section in the crash site video, it seems to be a F-15D-23-MC s/n 78-0571 although news articles report it is as a F-15C. ( Missouri-ANG 131st AW. )
"571" viz from the aerial shots.

It was a C model from the 131. All over the news here in STL yesterday. Nothing today since the pilot punched out and lived.

Yeah, plane crashes are boring to the media unless somebody dies.  irked
