Hmmm...I wonder if the IAF "assisted" in any way with the "crash"?

There seems to be three distinct possible explanations to might have happened.

1- The Syrian aircraft was flying over Syrian territory and crashed as a result of some "technical" failure ( accidents do happen sometimes !!! ).

2- It was indeed heading in the direction of Israeli airspace, and the Israelis took the decision to shoot it down and keep quiet about it, simply because they did not want to take any chances, especially in the midst of all the current tensions with Damascus after the recent Israeli strike in Northern Syria.

3- It was heading towards Israeli airspace in an attempt to defect ( something that happened before, you know ! ), but was shot down over its territory before it had the chance to cross into Israel, by Syrian air defences .

Iam not sure if we will ever find out what really took place, until or unless the Israelis decide to go public on this, and I guess the same also applies to the raid in the north.

Wow, the media is at it again.

Picture caption: "IAF fighter jets." Really? Sneaky IAF, paiting their jets in the markings of the 391st Fighter Squadron. Just wait until the boys at Mountain Home find out.

I guess this incident gives a new meaning to the saying: "scared shitless".  stirthepot
