Looks like either a really bad Touch & Go, or he was seeing how good the shocks worked...... Does anyone know where this is?

Appears to be a Navy base with the Marines standing around and the Carrier "Meat-Ball" set up. Shouldnt this be in MilAv though?

I think it's AL Udeid AB in Qatar. These are practise touch and goes at airfileds without landing visual aids. The meatball is actually a fresnal lens. But all services use them when using a staging point at a makeshift landing strip. They're usually used for C-130's practising for LAPES evolutions.

In any event, should this be in civil av?

Listening carefully to the engines, I believe he started to go around very late and the plane still slammed onto the deck. It was quick and violent - looks like a classic case of strong LLWS and a late attempt go-around.
