KC-767 And Utah Economy

Mon Oct 22, 2007 4:28 pm

Boeing is again touting the financial benefits of the KC-767 for another state. This time it's Utah. See the Boeing web page. When is the final decision regarding who wins the competition supposed to be made? Can anyone remember Boeing doing something like this while trying to win previous contracts? is it my imagination, or does Boeing appear to be desperate to win this contract?

Did you happen to notice last week the comments of the Chairman of Airbus North America touting the contributions of Airbus to the U.S. economy? Boeing just plays the game better; state by state. Remember, all politics is local....

What company would not be "desperate" to win a USD$40 billion contract?

Yippee, maybe next it's Idaho. Then Boeing can talk up the 767's "Wide stance" and "non-gayness" for all to behold.

There are many BS Boeing press-releases that could be written.

It's interesting that Boeing is making strides in political analysis. They use politics / mumbojumbo to increase their profits. This is a mathematical activity similar to engineering. You identify weak spots (politically) and apply grease just where it's needed. You predict the payoff and anylyze your results.

If it works, you build factories in locations where it will be most politically useful, and/or donate to politicians in the darndest places.

Like Alabama? Only EADS miscalculated and the republicans lost!
