Vulcan In The Air Again!

Fri May 09, 2008 3:21 pm

The queue is so long at the moment that I thought I'd share all of the hard work done by the engineers, aircrews, sponsors, etc in the forum (if I am allowed to!). She flew today from Coningsby to Bruntingtorpe via Cranwell and Waddington. What a beautiful sight to behold! Only a few more weeks and she will be seen all over the country at the airshows.

I hope she will be participating to the flight demos at Farnborough. I was talking on the phone with Mike Bannister and he said there are some new problems with the aircraft? I hope they will have them fixed soon and also have sufficient funds to keep her flying. She is totally awesome.
There was a better way to fly it was called Concorde

Well I see the Vulcan is no longer listed on the Biggin Hill website. Damnit. I am going and was really looking forward to seeing it.  Sad

I believe there was a flight earlier today at Bruntingtorpe? One of my instructors was heading up to fly her while the other chased her...
Me: (Lining up on final) I shall now select an aiming point. || Instructor: Well, I hope it's the runway...

Vulcan's a beautiful bird. I love the engine intakes in the wing (a la DeHavilland's ill-fated Comet). I'd love to see it fly over here, although I did get to see a static Vulcan on display at the Strategic Air Command Museum outside of Omaha, NE a week ago.
