Nato Tiger Baby

Fri May 23, 2008 10:46 am

A rather unusual occurence today at work, a stuffed tiger went for a pax ride in one of our Hawk 127's at Williamtown today. Looking through his bag of history and stuff we saw his logbook which lists flights in aircraft such as Spitfire, Lancaster, F-22, B-1B, F-117, F111, F-15, F-16, F-18, Tornado, B707/KC135 just to name a few with a total air time of some 2500+ hours.
Apparently it all started with the Lechfeld 321 Tiger squadron and since then Tigerbaby has achieved somewhat of a celebrity status.
Tiger baby's hawk flight was delayed at first as Tiger baby is a bit of a fine and sunny pilot when it comes to Light fighters/trainers not liking the wet he waited for a break in the clouds before taking to the air.
After tigerbaby returned we repaired his transport bag as it looked a bit ratty and worn after his extenuous travels and sent him on his way with a nice new set of honourary RAAF flight lieutenant rank slides.

If any one else out there has had an encounter with Tiger baby please shed light on your encounter with the most famous stuffed animal in aviation circles.

tiger baby's web site can be found here in both English and german

Ah yes, Tiger Baby, the mascot of the 321 squadron, and proud holder of a world record.
How come "Baby" visited Williamtown'?
