UK TV 633 Squadron Film Sat 07 Feb 1245 GMT

UK TV SAT 07 FEB 1245 ITV1 LONDON

The film is said to have good Lancaster flying sequences. Part of the critic's write up (with reference to the classic "Dam Busters" film):

"The flying sequences are undeniably more thrilling (particularly the Scottish Highlands training exercises), but they cannot compensate for the dullness of the Norwegian-set scenes, which smack of Hollywood's wartime vision of occupied Europe in which the Nazis resemble the Keystone Kops and romance matters more than heroism."

Great flying sequences.

Pity that the critic does not know that the Dam Busters of 617 Sqn flew Lancasters, whereas the fictional 633 Sqn flew Mosquitoe's.

Great Mosquito footage, rubbish plot/acting.
But always nice to see the 'Wooden Wonder' in Technicolor action!

One of my favorite movies. I have it on DVD and watch it about once a year. What a beautiful aircraft.

Are there any left flying today?

Thanks,
