A90 Orlyonok

Mon Dec 07, 2009 1:54 am

Ok, I know very little about the Orlyonok. I would appreciate it if you could share what you know with me. I am uncertain if it is military or civil, so I chose to post it in this forum. I am sorry if I chose the wrong one. All I know is that four were built, and only one survives.

Paging Dr. 2H4. You are needed urgently over at Mil/Space.

Isn't the surviving one in a museum somewhere? I doubt it's still flying (or floating, or whatever it is these things do).
I'll do my own airline. With Blackjack. And hookers. In fact, forget the airline.

Youtube has several very interesting videos about these machines. Search "Ekranoplan"  Smile

It had been restored a year or so back and is now an exhibit in the Naval Museum in Moscow - and fittingly not on boring dry land  Smile.
