Raaf Accepts 2 B-737 Wedgetails

Wed May 05, 2010 6:53 pm

These are the two Wedgetails delivered by Boeing to the RAAF last year, but now they are fully under RAAF control for flight, maintenance, and training scheduling. The RAAF has fully accepted them into the RAAF fleet. Boeing say they will deliver 3 more Wedgetails this year and the 6th aircraft early next year. All 6 of these AWACS aircraft will be fully upgraded by next year.

Glad to see this happening.
Inspiration, move me brightly! Light the song with sense and color.
Hold away despair, more than this I will not ask.
Faced with mysteries dark and vast, statements just seem vain at last.
Some rise, some fall, some climb, to get to Terrapin!

Well that is one more program we can strike from the "still yet to be delivered" list.

Just to be clear, these are the two AEW&C B-737NGs that Boeing turned over to the RAAF last Nov. but retained control over. Now, Boeing no longer has control of them, the RAAF does.
