Air Force 2 In Minor Incident (no Injuries)

Wed Aug 11, 2010 11:02 pm

Not sure whether this should go here or in military av. I put it here since the plane involved was a GA aircraft.

Interesting that something like this would happen.

The title is a little misleading.

AF2 was not involved in an incident it ....caused an incident.

Give the guy are break. Your getting into semantics. Yes, it caused the incident, wouldn't that mean it was 'involved'??

You didn't know? Thats how you throw your weight around on this site. Correct and PC someone to death until you just don't care anymore to post.

___

The 757 is a thrust making monster. I would hate to be behind it just at break away thrust. However I have a feeling the PIC will not be fairing well in the investigation unless the Cub was parked somewhere it shouldn't have been. I would think with the SS around, that wouldn't happen though.

Is it just me or does Biden cause a TON of accidents?

I'm just impressed that someone used "Air Force Two" in a sentence correctly!

Not trying to enter the pissing contest but have to say... the first sentence of the article itself says that AF2 was 'involved' in a minor accident.

Can't shoot the messenger, he's just quoting the article he linked to.

It sure does seem that way, doesn't it.

Correct.

I wonder how close the GA airplane was to the TWCL, where the C-32A was taxiing? There is something in this story that just doesn't add up.

I could have sworn he has had 3-4 'incidents' involving his motorcade. Hm.....

At first thought I would say yeah the Cub was too close, but the SS wouldn't let something like that happen right? I'm afraid this might come down to someone being a little over zealous on the throttles. Would there be a final report released regarding this or would it be considered a military matter and not public?

How exactly did Biden cause this? He wasn't at the controls of the C-32, he didn't marshal it out to the taxiway, and he didn't park the Cub in that spot.

The Cub was unoccupied, and from what I've seen, it was tied down in a normal parking spot, so I don't know that the SS would have given it much thought. I guess someone didn't pay enough attention to clearance for jet blast...

In terms of accidents I was referring to the motorcade incidents 'he' has been involved in. I have never said 'he' caused them directly at any point did I? He is indirectly involved in everything that happens around him for one reason or another. Please don't take me literal to the point of nit picking.

You clearly haven't seen the SS in work then. This isn't a couple of mall cops on segways. These guys have parameters they have to meet ANYWHERE they go. They didn't just look at the cub and say "hmmmmm, nah it can stay." Hence why I said.......................

Maybe I misread this...

But I'll take you at your word that you didn't really mean it that way.

Yes I have, and as I said, the Cub was unoccupied, and appeared to be in a regular tie down area, clear of the taxi path of the aircraft. Yes, it appears someone didn't pay attention to the throttles.

Just to clarify, although I'm quoted in this reply it was actually KC135TopBooms words that somehow tpa36r attributed to me. No biggie, just saying.

Funny, when they parked the motorcade in our hangar they did not seem too concerned about letting us look all over the vehicles and take pictures. I can tell you the part I found most interesting was the limo had a phone with several "speed-dials" listed. I believe 1 was "The Royal Crown", 2 was "Russian President"....

It's not the movies. They take their job seriously, but a Cub parked and tied down probably would not draw any attention at all.

Were you subject to a background check? Or one you would have known about? Most employers release your information on your behalf. If you didn't pass you would simply be told not to come to work that day.

And that innocent looking Cub some 100ft away could have a explosive device in it. But of course this isn't the movies and that wouldn't happen now would it? Trust me, it would draw plenty of intention. It would be searched several times throughout the day.

My concern (and I don't think this will be the issue) is why it was close enough to be bothered by wake of the 757. Hence again why I said someone probably got a little slap happy on the go fast handles.

I can't believe I'm the first to say this, 'This is a big F'ing deal!'
