Seafire 15 Returns To Flight

Mon Aug 23, 2010 8:20 pm

A friend of mine passed on a newscast about the restoration of a RN Seafire in Columbia, Missouri.

It's worth your time if your interested in old warbirds. The owner of the plane is Wes Stricker a doctor in the Columbia area. I knew him well when I used to work in the area. He has an extensive warbird collection that has grown quite a bit since I used to work at KCOU and KJEF.

Great video. Saw this beautiful bird at Oshkosh a few weeks ago.

I see the the Mk17 Seafire perfom at Yeovilton probably 10 times a year and hearing the sound of a Griffon never gets boring!

I prefer the 17s appearence colour wise, but the 15 looks stunning nonetheless.

When I knew him, his collection was a T-28 and a few odds and ends. I understand he has a P-51D and a few other rare birds now. It truly is a beautiful aircraft. I liked how the photographer let the people tell the story and not muck it up like most journalists.
