I was in Chania, Crete (close to Souda Airbase), the previous week, and noticed coninuous plane noise and occational F16 sightings throughout the first days of my stay (from the 22.), but all of a sudden, it stopped. This might very well have been on the 26th. I concluded that the (obvious) military exercise was over, but apparently it was halted because of this?

My hopes go out to the pilot missing!
