Question About Swiss Military Activity

Sat Sep 25, 2010 5:36 pm

I was at the Jungfraujoch near Interlaken earlier this week and I saw a Swiss Air Force PC-21 do a knife edge pass (about 100 m off the ground) passing from East to West and then continue low flight all the way down the glacier...It was amazing.

I also noticed a LOT of military activity over Interlaken and the Jungfrau region.

I know the Axalp shooting range is nearby (don't know how close by) but I wanted to know just how regularly it is used, and if anyone knows if flying (like this and other aviation over the Jungfrau and Altesch Glacier) is that common.

More over, I looked in the database but was unable to find a shot of something flying low over the jungfrau...So does anyone know where I can find a picture (or video) of people flying over the Jungfrau like that?

I tried to get a shot of the PC-21 but he was flying pretty quickly and I had a pretty wide angle lens on....

Thanks in advance.
