Lockheed In Danger Of Losing Pentagon Cert.

Tue Oct 05, 2010 8:10 pm

The following article implies problems on tracking costs.
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-1...em-on-deficiencies.html?cmpid=yhoo

"The system used by No. 1 defense contractor Lockheed Martin Corp.’s aircraft unit to track aircraft costs and schedules has lost its Pentagon certification because of persistent deficiencies, a Defense Department spokeswoman said. "

Is this another problem?

The system they use may have lost its certification but that doesn't mean the company has. The title of this thread is misleading.

It was in the article "earned value management system"?

That sounds more like the type of thing it does than the brand, like SAP or Oracle.

Sounds like they failed their DCAA audits and then did not rectify the problems found.

There will be some meetings and nasty letters, and some payments may be delayed, and a few people might get the axe, but it will all be smoothed over in the end.
