Plane Crash In Angola

Wed Sep 14, 2011 1:50 pm

Not much information available but it has been reported that 30 people died (including three army general officers), as a result of a plane crash in Huambo Province. Sources say at least 6 people have survived the crash.

I think the a/c is probably an EMB-135BJ from the FAA (Angola Air Forces), but i cant be sure about this.

The EMB-120 is a 30 pax a/c .. news report at least 36 people, thats why my suspicious went towards the EMB-135.. but again, very little or almost no information at this time.

Oh jeez, sounds terrible. Weather reports in Huambo show nothing but heat and sun...too early to tell but it doesn't sound like weather.

One of the reports says the aircraft was identified as "Tango 500" which appears to correspond to the Embraer Brasilia.

If it's not a military aircraft, this could be Air26. They operate both of those aircraft types in Angola.

Shouldn't any airforce related topics be moved to Military?

This is really bad news, does any one knows the cause of the accident?
