U S Military Charter DC-10 Flights

Thu Sep 15, 2011 8:14 pm

Is it true that Effective 1 Oct., that U S military charters will no longer be operated by DC-10s? I understand that with the new rule effectove on that date that no transport over a certain age will qualify to be used and that is why the likes of Omni, world and Atlas are opting for newer twin types such as 767 and 777. Of course, these types are cheaper to operate and that might have a lot to with it also.

Why? World only flys MD-11's and 747-400's

I thought they still operated DC-10 30s. They must have phased them out this year.
