Clark County Director of Aviation Randall Walker was immediately notified and dispatched airport personnel to the campsite, but witnesses report that the blue ice had melted by the time officials arrived leaving only a smelly brown residue.

thought this can't happen on aircraft as modern as AF1 (if it was one of the 747s) because they have vacuum toilets. Can anyone verify that? Perhaps it was an older aircraft landing just before?

AF-1 is a Boeing 747-200 and as such would have been equipped with state of the art (at the time) blue water recirculating toilets.
