Delta 737 Landing At Jnas Question

Sun Apr 08, 2012 5:29 am

I was at Jacksonville NAS today and saw a Delta 737 landing there and was just curious as to why. Its not a joint use airport and I've never seen air carriers fly into there before, so my best guess was a chartered plane bringing military personnel back home for Easter? Anyone know or have a guess?

It's the shuttle to Guantanamo Bay.

it is was STT757 said. It's a shuttle between Gitmo Jacksonville and Norfolk (Chambers Field) that runs on an almost regular schedule.

It used to be consistently done by TZ before they went bust. I recall afterward seeing NA aircraft at NIP from time to time, presumably fulfilling the same function.
