Two P-51's With The Same SN

Fri Apr 05, 2013 7:17 pm

So, to the best of my understanding, there were two P-51's salvaged from Israel. Somewhere along the line the data plate were switched/stolen causing confusion as to the identities of both aircraft. The aircraft are Twilight Tear and Fragile but Agile.

Twilight Tear is on display near where I live, and I'm hoping to go see it this weekend, so I'd like to know its true identity first.

Crazy Horse Aviation has a detailed account of the confusion. If I understand it correctly, Fragile But Agile is the original aircraft while Twilight Tear wears a SN it won in court.

Can someone please clear this up for me? Which aircraft wear's its original SN, or do they both?
