Rolls-Royce Owned Spitfire - Any News?

Fri Apr 19, 2013 4:11 pm

Following the post landing incident at East Midlands Airport where it was alleged the pilot mistakenly raised the gear there seems to have been very little news, also apart from the night time photos of the aircraft being recovered I've not seen any more pictures of the damage sustained.

Can anyone provide any updates and/or photos?

Over 525 views and not a single snippet of information about this Spit, come on guys (and girls) there must be someone out there with at least a rumour?

According to the Mirror this morning, the accident was caused by the pilot raising the undercarriage rather than the flaps after landing (i.e. wrong lever) and it's more or less repaired and will be on the airshow circuit this summer.

Not sure myself when the work was finished but it clearly has been completed as it just took part this morning in a formation flypast with BA's new 787 over Rolls-Royce's Derby site.
