Looks like NG won the jackpot for the Taiwanese MLU and USAF CAPES program. Koreans must have either gotten the source codes from Raytheon when they chose the RACR or they are going to be paying maeu manh-eun won for any upgrades!!

Lockheed Martin has selected Northrop Grumman's Scalable Agile Beam Radar (SABR) for the US Air Force's F-16 upgrade programme. The service had delegated the decision on selecting between the SABR and the Raytheon Advanced Combat Radar (RACR) to Lockheed last year.

"SABR will provide F-16s unprecedented operational capability, greater reliability and viability in threat environments beyond 2025," says Joe Ensor, vice-president of Northrop's targeting systems division. The new sensor will also be installed on upgraded F-16s for Taiwan, as a result of the selection.

The South Koreans will be paying through the nose for any upgrades down the line. They will end up paying for any future upgrades on their own, as no one else has chosen RACR for their F-16 upgrade. And SABR is related to the F-35's and F-22's radars, which means upgrades and software enhancements meant for those two radars will be easily ported to SABR.

Northrop Grumman appears to have won the radar sweepstakes, as they are providing radars for the bulk of the future USAF, USMC, and USN fighter fleets.
