I saw a video years back that had a C-17 on approach in Charleston, South Carolina, to rwy15, they went down to minimums on the ILS and broke off of the approach to "circle and land" on rwy21.. They called it the "Suicide Circle" and I imagine banking a C-17 over 60 degrees at 1/2KM out and 200AGL from the airport is quiet an accomplishment but I have tried and tried but the footage is gone from the internet.. Can anyone tell me how to find that footage again?
It was cockpit footage, and in the background was the annoying, "TERRAIN TERRAIN, PULL UP, PULL UP"
The whole time you could see that these pilots were the master's of the aircraft, I was impressed by the calmness they showed in a deliberate situation they brought upon themselves..
Much appreciation from this guy!!
This is my very first post after reading for better than (well since airliners.net started) I finally had to break the silence..
