They could spend their money on better things than military hardware. Or get more JF-17 Thunder, of which they have 26 on order.
Many happy landings, greetings from The Netherlands!

Obviously, they decided that Chinese modification of the MiG-21 will be less effective.

Then 6 a/c? Get a whole infrastructure set up for six a/c, and that would be more effective? They could also have chosen fo the MiG-29, which they already operate if your heart is set on Russian hardware. But it is a pointless purchase in my view.

Su-30 does not require any special infrastructure, what are you?

Really? Each and every new piece of hardware requires its own infrastructure, from training to special tooling to maintain it. But the Su-30 doesn't, remarkable, such a good craft that it is the only plane in the world that doesn't need it. The Russians are masters of building something................

Su-30 is largely unified with the Su-27, and the range of weapons on Russian planes have always been the most unified. The cost of the aircraft included in the training of ground personnel for their service, and most likely, the training of pilots. But some special infrastructure the Su-30 is not required.
Or are you under the creation of an infrastructure implies a warehouse of spare parts?

Seems to have conflicting news items here: http://iraqidinarchat.net/?p=38463

"Defence Ministry denied on Saturday reports that the use of Russian fighter aircraft model, “Su – 30″ for the first time in the battles against the “Daash,” asserting that Iraq did not possess this type of aircraft now.

He said the Ministry Media Director Brigadier improve Ibrahim said in a statement press him today: “Iraq does not possess aircraft Su-30″, stressing that “such type of aircraft is not available in Iraq now.”

Probably meant the Su-25, which they did get from Russia.

Since the country in question doesn't have any Su-27 either, it is a moot point. The Su-30 is bigger than other planes, so perhaps some hardware needs to be amended on the airfields, think hardened shelters etc. Definitely, people need to be trained on the type and spare parts need to be obtained and stored.
Many happy landings, greetings from The Netherlands!

Hmm, I guess you're right. Obviously, the originator of the card operators, too, as I was misled by the statement of the representative of Iraq. Looks like he really messed up the Su-25 and Su-30. Su-25 was delivered in 2014 to Iraq in the amount of 20 units.
