Hey,
Is anyone having trouble in Geometry? Cause I am and I have no idea why. I mean I am a straight A student and all of sudden I am on the verge of failing Geometry. I did really well in Algebra 1 and 2, so why am I having trouble in Geometry? Any ideas... thanx

In New York, we have screwed up math (we have Sequential I, II, III and IV- it's everything mixed up)
But I think I'd be able to help- don't worry- just somethings are not everyone's strong points .
Im right with oyu OlympicA340!!! Last year i took Geometry (inour school it goes Algebra1-Geo-Algebra 2)
and did horrible! My highest grade was an 82 which is a C :*(
I had straight A's in Algebra 1 lol so i dunno what happened, just wasnt a good year!

Why would God make us all so different, if He wanted us to be the same?
I took Geometry last year (my sophomore year) nad didn't do the greatest (i got B's and C's) but I found the class interesting...that is, other than doing proofs!!!!!!
Geometry is "real" math. Algebra is one thing, Geometry is another. If you think geometry is whacked, wait 'til you get to calculus in college! Look at my old high school's math track for comparison if you like: http://www.saydel.k12.ia.us/shs/math.htm
Geometry was really fun for me, but I guess thats cause I'm a math guy. If you really engulf yourself and think about the majic that is really going on, you'll be interested and probably do better.
I took Honors Geometry last year in 9th grade, and it was EASY, I did NOT like Algebra 1 in 8th grade and I dont think I will like Algebra 2 this year (only one week of school has passed). Several friends of mine are good at Algebra but need help in Geometry. I guess some people are good at one and are bad at the other.
Regular Geometry was fine for me... But I flunked most of the Circle Geometry sections. Strangely enough I did well in Trigonometry, which is based mostly on circle geometry concepts.
So in other words, give me angle calculations any time, even a hypotenuse, but forget a @#*&%!! arc or chord!

PS I took calc in high school, too. Strangely enough I never took a math class in college. Got a 4 on the AP Calc AB exam.
I did pretty well in Algebra, but my notes were the only tihng that kept me from C's. Geometry is a breeze in my opinion. I have known other people who have had a really easy time in Algebra, but almost failed geometry. Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses.
I hate math. I failed my geometry class during my SENOIR year in high school, then again that's not the only class I failed during my senoir year. I can't count over 20 (or over 10 with my shoes on).
We don't have Geometry as a seperate class here in MB. But rather it is worked into all the other math courses. If you think Geo is hard, wait until Calculus comes. Or you could be like me and take AP Calc.
I am a sophomore, so only taking one AP class, AP Prep Chemistry, its pretty hard but can be fun, like the other day we burned the copper off of a penny with nitric acid.
