True Ignorance.

Wed Sep 06, 2000 11:25 am

Okay, Im a bit sick of being called "ignorant" SO let me show all of you the type of people that consider me "ignorant" and YOU decide.

I will have you know that the following is 100% documented fact, it sounds crazy to some of you, but its where we are headed.. and then there are some of you who will disagree with me, and thats fine.

Many people respect the ACLU (american civil liberties union). These people would probably consider me "hateful" and "ignorant" because I do not agree with THIS: Two parents are attempting to sue NAMBLA (north american man-boy love association) because their 10 year old son was kidnapped, sodomized, and brutally murdered by members of this group. (NAMBLA is based on the freedom to express sexual "love" between much older men and small boys... yes this group exists and is GROWING)
The ACLU is defending! NAMBLA because they say that it is a freedom of speech issue and they should have all rights to freely express thier "love" toward young boys.

Okay, so the ACLU defends freedom of speech... continue, it gets worse

The ACLU has begun a huge campaign against the city treasurer in a small town because in HER OWN PRIVATE office, she has a poster that states "In God We Trust". This lady is a treasurer she deals with money and of course all our money has "IN GOD WE TRUST" printed on it (because those are the principles that made this such a great country). The ACLU says this is NOT freedom of speech, rather an attempt of promoting one's religion and pressuring others. Remember, this is in this lady's Personal office.

Okay, now if you've just read this and think, "the ACLU is correct in all this" then in MY PERSONAL OPINION if you still think im ignorant, so be it, I would rather have morals and decency and be called ignorant, then stand for whatever it is that you think you stand for. (by the way you ACLU fans, what exactly do you stand for? it sure isnt freedom of speech, its freedom of YOUR speech only, and none for those who dont agree with you)

Over the past few years, philosophy like this has entered into our schools and are training small minds by having sex classes, and handing out condoms to kids that havent even hit puberty. In exchange we are getting rid of school prayer, and trying to kick ALL religion out of the classroom.

One of the problems I have with Liberals and "so called" freedom of speech, is that they expect everyone to allow for thier "freedom of speech and expression" but if you disagree with anything they say, its not freedom of speech, rather "hatred" and "ignorance"

This is a prime example of the direction this country is headed when we put people like AL GORE in charge, and by the way, Gore defends the ACLU.

So if you would rather have people you dont know handing your 8 year old a condom at school.. and if you would rather turn your head in the other direction when groups like NAMBLA are making a livelyhood out of sodomizing young boys, and if you would rather kick religion out of the world completely, then go ahead, call me ignorant, and cast your vote for Gore, because he thinks like you.

Go ahead, call me those names, besides, you have a right to... (of course i dont)

have a nice day

I'm not going to call you ignorant... in fact I think you have a good point. The stuff about NAMBLA (also in your other post) makes me truly want to hurl.... that's grose and is not aceptable in oursociety (or any.)

I am endorsing what you say... I agree with it.

I have never been a fan of the ACLU. Maybe at one time the principals of there ideas were right but they have gone way beyond. I totaly agree that they are two faced, and are only happy when there agenda is met. To include, ridding all religion from every place that the public could possibly see it. Desensitizing our youth to sex, homosexuality, and violence. Their idea of a civil liberty is one that agrees with there agenda.

The ACLU is just another arm of the extreme liberal establishment in our great nation. These guys run around pushing their class warfare mantra of "protecting the rights of 'little people' against the evil rich and huge corporations hellbent on taking over our country and enslaving everybody to work for them." When they're not doing that, they rip us conservatives down as extreme right wingers and elitist rich people.

With people like this, things like values, morals, character, the idea of EARNING SOMETHING instead of having it given to you, and the other traditional ideals on which our nation was built are meaningless.

They also represented conservatives and other extreme right wing organizations. Examples: Represented a Republican candidate to post election signs (big & ugly  ) in his property; Ku Klux Klan's right to burn a cross on private property (with a black lawyer); rights of Nazis to march in a predominately Jewish suburb (with a Jewish lawyer). I'm sure there's some more...

huh   You mean it's okay to represent far-right wingers, but not far-left wingers?

...That would be Judicial Watch or the Eagle Forum.

I never said it was okay to represent far right extremists. According to the law, it's okay to represent whatever the hell you want. But extremism, whether left or right, is rejected in "the Marketplace of Ideas," to use the words of the great Ronald Reagan.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not a far right winger. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being very liberal(but not radical) and 10 being very conservative (but not extreme) I'm probably a 7.

And I am just as afraid of far right wingers (i.e. Pat Buchanan) as I am of far left wingers (i.e. Al Sharpton). The idea of either type of group gaining a majority in Congress or getting in to the White House is absolutely horrifying to me.

1. NAMBLA is a revolting organisation.
2. The ACLU must give equal representation without discrimination or there is no point to it's existence. (I think you will find that not very many members of the ACLU, if any, would personally support half the organisations and people that the ACLU defends.)
3. Organised Religion has absolutely no place in any public schools or public offices.
4. The church must be separate from the state.
5. If parents wish their children to be educated in a religious environment then there are plenty of religious schools available.
6. Sex and drug education in schools is an imperative. (Many religious zealots will decry such teachings as against gods will, however sex education in schools is all about avoiding debilitating diseases and difficult situations not running around madly humping.)
7. Children need to be taught tolerance at an early age, as well as many of their parents too.

I was responding more to Chris28_17. Unfortunately (or fortunately), the ACLU, being a civil liberties organization must represent unpopular groups and/or beliefs--that's the nature of their business.

I agree, the center is the place to be. That's why the Republican party has shifted to the middle this election year. Now, will the voting public buy it, will find out in November.

BTW, Did Cal changed...wouldn't you be more comfortable being a Cardinal, rather than a Golden Bear.

Hey CStarU,

Voltaire said, " I detest what you write, but I would give my life to make it possible for you to continue to write." Someone else said what you said Voltaire said but that quote is very often falsely attributed to him.

Anyway, I completely disagree with Voltaire's rational.

mls515 says:

"If you're too afraid to say it, don't think it!"

"If I don't like what you have to say, you have a snowball's chance in hell of getting me to defend your inherently flawed beliefs! Fight society on your own, you big pussy!"

"And keep in mind that 'TALK IS CHEAP!' Neither Voltaire nor his disciples have ever died for anyone else's beliefs."

"If ya ain't got nothin' to hide, ya ain't got nothin' to worry about!"

Just addressing a few things you stated..

"5. If parents wish their children to be educated in a religious environment then there are plenty of religious schools available. "

Thats true in theory, but MOST of the parents that would like to send thier kids to private schools DONT have the money, I know, because that was my family. And I'm not saying "public" schools should become "religious" schools at all. But where do we draw the line on "freedom of speech"?

Okay, its freedom of speech when old men want to sodomize young boys, but when a 2nd grade kid closes his eyes and says a prayer at school before he eats his hot lunch, well, theres "no place for that".

"6. Sex and drug education in schools is an imperative. "

Is that so? in case you havent noticed, kids ARE "running around madly humping" unlike anything this country has ever seen. Thus there are more kids without daddys or mommys, and more illigitimate children then ever. Sex education ONLY teaches kids that sex with ANYONE is OKAY as long as you "be careful".

There are things that you should not give kids responsibility of until they are old enough to handle it, thats why you get your drivers license when your 16, not 8. LIKEWISE, kids are not responsible enough at the age of 12 to dicern a sexual feeling from right or wrong. THATS THE PARENTS JOB of knowing when thier child is ready for certain things and its thier job to explain the birds and the bees. Unfortunetely, many kids grow up with poor families and bad parents, but i think i explained last paragraph why THAT is; liberals use circular reasoning to rationalize thier actions.

Also in case you havent noticed, as God is driven from schools, and liberal agenda is put in, morals have gone to pot, no pun intended.

I could go on, but most people like reading short posts

I think the ACLU is a necessary evil...like Democrats.

ps-"True Ignorance" is an oximoron, somewhat like "Military Intelligence" or "Real Fakeness" or "Positive Depression."

As far as I am concerned, the ACLU are a bunch of self serving dips****. Remember Columbine? The day after that, two kids in Ohio walked into their school wearing trenchcoats, and was expelled immediately.Good, right?? Not to them ACLU cockroaches....they went against that school saying that their "right to expression" was violated.(at least the ACLU's definition)..If I remember right, fortunately the ACLU lost that round, and the two teens remained expelled, but it is a point that the ACLU represents everything wrong with this country.
