Job Interviews.

Fri Sep 08, 2000 3:45 pm

I have a question for everyone, I havent had too many jobs in my life and all the places I applied for I didnt even have to worry about not getting hired (Hardees and Burger King). Well on Tuesday I put in an application at the Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island for a housekeeping job and I have this strange feeling that Im going to get turned down, do any of you know if giving like complements and all that during the interview helps cause I really need this job (it pays 7.20$ an hour which is better than 5.15) and if any of you can give me any pointers it would really be helpful.

Dress nicely, have a firm handshake, don't use words such as "stuff or like", wait until you are told to sit, ask when you will hear back from them, don't slouch, don't chew gum. If you want more, email me.

And above all, relax. You're expected to be a bit nervous, but just answer the quesitons as best you can, don't be afraid to ask things yourself. Do what everyone above advises, and you shouldn't go too far wrong. Good luck, and let us know how it works out.

First of all there are way better jobs than housekeeping that pay more than $7 and hour. Your profile says your 16+ so you should have no problem getting more money since you can work past 7:00 legally. I mean at McDonalds you can get over $10 an hour for being a night shift manager (4:00-11:00PM).
