Rain!

Wed Sep 13, 2000 6:07 am

Although this may not seem like a big deal to most people, for the first time in 72 days, it rained in Dallas, Texas. We broke the record by 12 days, and I guarantee you that that will be the headline on local news broadcasts. Heck, we also got a funnel cloud in the area. How do you like that, first time you get rain in 72 days, and there is a chance of a Tornado.

Well, at least the tornado might suck up some of the dry dust and flammable brush...

Not that I want 72 days without rain but it allowed for lots of good clear skys for plane watching I would think.

See, there is an upside to just about everything.

PS. It is almost hockey season, the sun has to stop shining so they can make ice in Dallas. HAHAHA

Why do you think the Stars have their training camp in Vail. They claim for the altitude, but seeing how it is the norm for Temps to be in the 100's or 90's through October, I am not so sure about that.

Its not always bad to not have rain, just last tuesday we got 9" of rain in 6 hours, the town was pretty much flooded. I like the rain, as long as I dont get caught driving in it (my tires are nearly bald and my power steering and a/c go out cause the belts get wet).

Adam84, Jacksonville got flooded a couple of weeks ago, right? There were small tornados that touched down on the Westside and Murray Hill. There was water up to the windshields of parked cars, my grandma said.

After living in London for 5 years, it's wired here in SFO how it never rains. I think it has rained once or twice in the month I have been here. I am used to it raining all the time. The only problem with the lack or rain and clouds is you can never get out of the sun and it gets so hot by the afternoon.

Yeah it was hell in Jville, the sidestreets were all flooded and downtown was flooded too. Not too sure of the tornadoes, wind was bad though. I was at a class on Beach Blvd next to Southside Blvd, anyhow the place I was at had water flowing in under the doors and the water was at about right under the door of my car so It was pretty deep water. I was stuck there for about 2 hours waiting for the water to go away.
