Trivia

Can you name at least one of the four homelands, or all four for extra points, that only South Africa recognizes as independent countries? (Don't cheat!)

It´s not the Republic of China any more, is it? South Africa weren´t the only ones to recognize them, anyway.
Others I think I can exclude are
Kosovo (only recognized by Albania)
and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (only recognized by Turkey).

Could it be East Timor or the Tamils´ areas?

If not, I concede defeat .

Good question!

I would definitely say the RoC, East Timor, and I have no idea!

Sorry, but you are both wrong. I will give you a hint: All four homelands are in Africa.

Can´t be Swaziland and Lesotho, they´re universally recognised states.
Hmm, in Africa you say; what about Cabinda and West Sahara? Don´t have an idea, where else there might be "renegade povinces".

Must be Venda, Bophutatswana, Transkei and hmm...don't remember the fourth one.

SR3496 is absolutely correct. Venda, Bophutatswana, Transkei, and Ciskei are all homelands of native South African tribes, and only South Africa recognizes them as independent.
