IBook Help

Mon Dec 04, 2000 9:00 am

Hello,

For my birthday (which is on the 18th of december) I'm getting an iBook. Well, I already got it!  I'm happy, but I'm having a problem with it. Internet Explorer wont work. When I open it, it goes to MSN.com, then fowards to onemain.com, and it keeps trying to load. It goes about 3 seconds, and just as it finds the site, it reloads. On the wondow, there is a message that states, Click if your browser dosnt automaticly foward, so I click it, and it dosnt help. This is only with Internet explorer. What can I do to fix the problem? I've reloaded the softwere, for it, and it continues to do this.

Currently I'm using Netscape, which sucks compared to Internet Explorer. I cant even load my trip report with Netscape. I can only load about half of it.

Any help is appreciated. Also, for all of you P.C. users, please dont make this an anti MAC post. Thanks.

Your problems sound odd. It was my understanding that both IE and Netscape were good browers for the mac. Are you using the most current version of each?

If that doesn't work, can you wipe your system clean and restore the delivery configuration? Has the problem always been there or did it develop after you began using it?

I'm not a mac person so I really can't think of any mac-specific reason why you're having problems. Good luck.

Internet Explorer is version five, and it came from teh factory all messed up. Today is only day two of opperating this machine. All that I've installed is word, power point, and excel. Oh, I downloaded Napster, but the first program that I tried to run was internet explorer, and it wsa all funky like that. Netscape is fine, but Java dosn't work the same. I do however, have not seen any one those annoying pop up adds, but i can not read scrolling messages. Well, I can read them in netscape, but they dont scroll.
