Airliners.net Needs One Of These...

Tue Jan 16, 2001 10:10 am

How about we all chip in, that way we can fly where we want when we want!

As long as I get a first class seat - I'm getting sick of flying coach!

Haha... I like the idea. I figure if we all chip in about a quarter of a million, it could be a possibility. Then we'll have to find some volunteer pilots. And, of course, our 752 will be based at Boeing Field in Seattle.

I'll fly it!

No promise that I can land although I bet I could get the engines going and maybe (big maybe) take off.

Hey, whats a quarter Million Dollars? Forget coach, thats the whole idea. Were talkin' all first class! You think Boeing field? Mmmm, thats a long walk from North Carolina, well you all can come pick me up I guess.

Oh yeah, by the way. Does anyone have an extra $250,000.00 that I could borrow. I lost my million dollar check from Regis last year and am still looking for it.

I say the plane should be based somewhere in Sweden! Nice livery.

I forgot how many airline nuts we have here. We might need to buy two and put them on either side of the globe. I like the Sweden idea, can't wait to go back some day, but I don't think we will see that 757 there in the winter.. maybe just to pick you all up and head south. Thanks for the complements!

Yeah, maybe I can donate five bucks to get us going onto our $250,000,000 goal....

Well, US$250,000 was figuring 300 contributors...
And definately 100% first class...
Iflycoach- could you even trust yourself flying a $75 million machine? haha...
And of course Boeing Field! Or maybe we could work out a time-sharing thing. Half of the time based on the west coast (in Seattle) and half of the time based on the east coast. hehe...

Oh well, wishful thinking. Maybe my dad can hook me up with Paul Allen and we can borrow his 757.

Which brings up another idea- we could even lease one from International Lease or charter one from an airline. That would be (beside more realistic) pretty fun, too.
Yeah- forget Airliners.net meetings at airports, we'll get a Boeing for the occasion!

Naw, there are so much people here that we need quite a few 747s and A340s.

Naw II - By the time it gets organised we might as well put an order in for the Skytanic. (A380)

Cheers,

And ya know- when the FAA isn't looking we might be able to sneak a couple flight deck visits in...hehe

It'd be cool if we could charter a 772 or 744 for an airliners.net get-together (fly around the world with stops in exotic airport locations - *grin*).

Talk about $$$.

I'll keep trying to get in contact with Paul (I know- its only a 752, but its better than nothing).

Lets see if we raise a 1000 dollars each weekend at a car wash - the are 52 weeks in a year we could make 52000 dollars  . I bet we could get AF1 from Bush if we trade him it for a case of Old English
I also want it to have a big screen - acutal HDTV no projector, surround sound system, DVD player, LAZBoy Recliners, and A T-3 Wirless conection to airliners.net

Well, maybe we could talk an airline that does logo jets like America West, Southwest, Ryan Air or something into painting one of their jets like this, All we ask in return is a few free charter flights a year to go around and meet up with eachother!   Well then I guess we would have to put up with coach seating, so thats not gonna work. LOL. Where is a Billionaire willing to throw money down the drain when you need one?

RyeFly,
Love the photo, although when this becomes a reality I'd like the paint scheme to incorporate the new Airliners.net logo in some way (that I have yet to add to the site but will ASAP).

It's a really wild idea but something that would be quite cool. I'm thinking about contacting some crappy cargo airline flying without any paint scheme or a very worn one that would allow us to paint one of their aircraft for noting more than the cost of having it done. Then have a contest letting people submit suggestions on what the paint scheme should look like.

The costs involved are huge though, anyone have any exact numbers?

Cheers,
Johan

Wow cool, I am glad you liked the scheme. That project of painting a plane sounds like an awesome idea. I am sure there is someone on this site that might know of some sort of connection for reaching this goal.
I said it above but its not really a bad idea. Maybe a sponcer or a promotion of some sort with an airline could help pave the way. A picture of a Airliners.net plane on this site would be a great addition to the site. Plus knowing we all did it together would be very neat to see. You know I am in for the contest!   Although winning the slogan and the scheme would be tough odds.

The new Airliners.net logo looks like it could fit the fuselage and tail bits very well. The Airliners.net text should go on the rear part of fuselage with the red runway thing (I think) extending on the tail. Just my suggestion...

I think we'll need a longer aircraft, something like A340-600 or B-777-300, in order to allow for as many window seats as possible.

Maybe we need to start with something less expensive, a fleet of Bombardier Global Express maybe? Great design... I'd love to see it really fly!

I vote we buy a new A380, we might still be able to get the launch discounts. This means we would have the most possible window seats, and could fit most of us in the plane.

For personal convienence, i vote the plane be based in SFO or SJC, but Boeing Field isn't so far from here.

Basing our aircraft in USA would be sort of unfair to European users. I suggest territory in between: Reijavik, Iceland!!

It Would Be Nice If It's On A 747, What You Think?

Wed Jan 17, 2001 12:00 pm

The present Aircraft with the Paint Scheme looks great!!!
But, what about if the Paint Scheme will be on a B-747!!!
Can you desing the same scheme on a B-747?
If you can, please do so, Thanks!!!

What do you think about this?
The sky is not the limit...

I had to refit a little bit the runway thing cause it was not fitting exactly the tail.
Somebody will do better.

L'Espace180, that's pretty good!
I think a widebody would be a lot better, maybe a 767-400LR?

That's pretty cool, but seeing we're all over the world wouldn't a 747-400 or a 777-200 be better? But then again, where would we come up with that much denero?

Too bad Western Pacific doesn't exist anymore, we could have gotten them to paint a 737 in airliners.net colors!  Smile Does anyone know of any airlines existing today that sell advertising on their planes -- I know there are some out there, but I can't remember names right now.
