TRL On Cbs?

Mon Jan 29, 2001 2:09 am

What the hell is that all about. I can just imagine all the fat guys holding their beers waithing for the game watching the backstreet boys shake their booties.

KROC, that's the highlight of the Super Bowl for my sister, and it is no different.

This is the first event to bring together MTV and CBS under the Viacom merger. Viacom owns MTV and bought CBS in September of 99. It is just this last month that the 2 companies are finally merged and working together under the Viacom umbrella. So, Viacom is taking advantage of the sister companys through something they call synergy. MTV's TRL and halftime show will be on CBS today. In the future, look for other MTV events on CBS and vice versa. Also look for the Nickelodeon (MTV owns Nick) line up to appear on your local CBS station on Saturday mornings. Other networks that are in this are TNN and CMT, all bought and now owned buy Viacom.

Yeah, I think Viacom is trying to own the world. They also own Paramount too. And I think part of Blockbuster...where does it end?

I saw part of the show when I was waiting with my parents for the car to be brought around at BUR this morning I was really tired and still in that despressed 'oh I'm not on the plane anymore' state and I didn't exactly get it.  Nuts

Indeed for awhile it appeared Viacom was going to try and take over everything. But Newscorp, Time Warner and Disney have beaten them to the punch. There are rumours that maybe Yahoo! might be a takeover target for Viacom. I hope not.

Viacom has a lot of debt and I think they are doing just fine now that they have CBS under the wing.
